HACKER MINI HERALD TRANSISTOR RADIO
This is a lovely example of a Hacker Mini Herald RP17 portable transistor radio from the sixties. The radio has been cleaned and serviced and is in excellent fully working condition. Please see detailed photos to judge condition. The case is finished in tan leatherette and has no tears or rips with both grilles in place. Top dial is clear with no cracks or scratches and only minor marks at bottom. Strap is excellent with no wear or cracking and only minor tarnishing to the brass covers as you would expect from a near 50 year old.
Sound quality is very good with decent bass from the large oval speaker. Receives MW & LW via built in aerial and is very sensitive picking up over 25 stations here in the south east. Operates with two 9v PP7 batteries (not included but available from CPC for £2.15). Size approx: 24cm wide, 17cm high, 9cm deep. Weighs in at nearly 1.8Kg. Serial number 30914.
Inside the battery compartments are clean with no leakage. There’s an external aerial socket for use in a vintage car and a headphone socket.
A great example of early British transistor radio with great sound that has become very collectible and would make an ideal present.
