Manufactured by Philips the L6X38 T Transworld de Luxe radio featured in the 1971 James Bond movie Diamonds Are Forever, where Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Charles Gray) uses the Philips L6X38 T Transworld de Luxe Antoinette radio.
This example needs some TLC as you can see from the gallery the main red tuning indicator is at a strange angle and does not move. FM has a separate tuning scale and this too sticks towards the left end. Fortunately the radio does still work and will be serviced at some point.
Here for now are some pictures.

Hello !
I have the same AM FM DE LUXE and i wonder wether
I could plug it to the 220v.
Amongst all the plugs in the back is there one dedicated to this ?
Thanks a lot

Hi Nicolas – my L6X38 only works on 9v DC, there’s a jack socket on the back left hand side. Needs a 9v DC mains power adapter with negative centre pin. Hope it works! Regards Rick

Hi Chris – my L6X38 works on a 400mA adapter so 1A will be ample. Does your radio work ok on batteries? The radio needs just over 100mA at full volume (1 watt = 9v x 110mA) plus few more mA with the light on. Suspect either your adapter is not negative centre pin or the radio’s socket contacts are tarnished and need clearing. Check these and see if it works. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Hi. I have this radio for the last 50 years. Only FM channel working. Can anybody suggest whether it can be refurbished at a reasonable price? Thanks.
